If you look at most media images of gays and lesbians, you’d think that the community is doing quite well. Celebrities like Ellen, Elton John, Clay Aiken, Wanda Sykes, and Lance Bass are the A-List crowd that promote visibility that we as gays and lesbians do exist.

One of the issues I noticed, though, was that I knew a lot of gay and lesbian friends who weren’t doing so well, financially speaking. They had massive credit card debt, had the latest cars and clothes that ran up even more debt, and they hated their jobs!

I was in this same position many years ago. And I was ashamed and afraid that others would judge me.

I thought I was done being in the closet! This time, my shame was around issues of money.

As gays and lesbians, it’s important that we not find ourselves in another closet, and that we support each other to our full greatness.

That’s why I’m focused on bringing a prosperity consciousness to the gay and lesbian community, and specifically focused on making money doing what you love.
