![]() A few years ago, as I was walking through my home, my eyes landed on my vision board hanging on my wall. For some reason, my eyes focused on this magazine cut-out of a cruise ship that I pasted on to the board. I thought, "Wow, I'd love to go on a cruise. It's been too long." But after a few moments, another thought crept up that said, "Yeah, a cruise would be nice, but you don't need to be spending that much money right now. Maybe another time." After that little exchange in my head, I went on with my day, forgetting about the whole thing. Two days later... ...I received a letter in the mail. The letter invited me to an all-expenses-paid 7-night cruise to Alaska. At first, I dismissed the letter, thinking it was a scam of some sort. But after awhile, I picked up the letter and decided to call the people who made me this offer. Here's how the conversation went: Me: I'm calling about the cruise. Is it true that this cruise is being offered to me all-expenses paid? Operator: Yes, that's right. Me: Oh, is there some presentation I need to sit through to get this? Operator: No, this cruise is being given to you. Me: Well, I'm probably going to have to share a cabin with someone I don't know, right? Operator: No, you get to invite one other person with you, and they'll be covered too. Me: Oh, really? Well, I bet we're probably going to get a small inside state room near the engine room. Operator: No, you're getting a balcony room with a gorgeous view. Me: Really? Hmm...I see that this cruise is going to Alaska and leaving from Seattle. I guess I need to make my way to Seattle to take advantage of this. Operator: We'll cover your flight to Seattle for you and your guest. We'll also make sure to book you a hotel room, also covered, the night before so that you make sure to board the cruise on time. Me: Is this for real? Operator: Yes, it is. Imagine my surprise when I did find out that this was for real. I ended up bringing one of my best friends, Myra, on to the cruise. All of our meals were paid for, and we went to cocktail parties every night where every little thing was covered, even our tips. It was one of the best trips of my life. If you're wondering why I was offered the cruise, here's what happened. I had bought some artwork on previous cruises, and this cruise was a thank you to past artwork collectors. It was also a way for the cruise to showcase more artwork to buy and to meet some of the artists in person, but there was no obligation to buy anything. What surprised me, though, other than getting an all-expenses-paid cruise, was that just two days prior to getting this invitation, my eyes zoomed in on the picture of the cruise ship on my vision board. I can't explain the exact science of how putting the picture of the cruise ship on my vision board led me to getting this all-expenses-paid cruise. However, I do believe in synchronicity. I believe that when you set your focus and intention on something joyful that you want to experience, the Universe conspires in bringing about limitless possibilities to meet that intention. The key is knowing what to ask for, being clear in your intention, believing that it's possible, and being open to the many possible ways you are led to receive the Good. I'm a big fan of vision boards, and dozens of people who have attended my vision board workshop have told me all about the wonderful experiences they've had as a result of creating their vision boards.
I'll be sharing in upcoming posts more about what a vision board is, how to make one, the different types of vision boards, and the one secret intention hidden in the vision board that isn't readily evident. In the meantime, I'm happy to announce that I'll be offering my Vision Board workshop at the Global Truth Center in North Hollywood on Saturday, September 19. I encourage you to register your seat and take advantage of the early bird discount. If you're outside the Los Angeles area, make a trip down here or share this with someone you know who is in the area. Click here for more info and to register. Making a vision board is fun, and doing it in community with others is a whole lot more fun. I hope you can make it! For your coaching assignment this week, I want you to bring to mind those times when you experienced synchronicity.
Creating a vision board helps to create those moments of synchronicity because when you declare what you want from Life, there's a trust that the Universe is listening and that you are open to receiving, no matter how it shows up. Sometimes all you need to do is ask. What are you ready to ask for? I'd love to hear about your experiences with vision boards and synchronicity. Please share by leaving a comment below. Abundant Blessings. |
