Recently, I heard a parent telling their child this statement.
"You have to work hard for your money. Money doesn't grow on trees." How many of us have heard that statement before? Whether or not he realized it, this parent was instilling in his child his money story. A money story is a belief that you have about money that affects your relationship with money. And so this money story of, "You have to work hard for your money. Money doesn't grow on trees," then is passing on this message that making money is a struggle. It's hard work. It will probably require sacrifice, long hours, stress, tears, a lot of hard work. Imagine if the father had said this instead. "Money is creative energy, and you are a creative being." Imagine how that child would take that story and apply it into their life. Henry Ford once said, "Whether you think you can or think you can't, you're right." So, what story do you want to be telling yourself this day? Abundant Blessings and Namaste. |
